I was so inspired by Ali Edward's post about our life being made up of stories that I have decided to focus on one aspect of our day, each day.
I hope to cover:
- My morning routine
- Quiet time (which I talk about on today's layout)
- Bedtime routine
- Weekend planning
Doing a little journal card I can still capture snippets of what's real and what's happening.
Made with the Project Life App + Midnight Core Kit
Loom bands are a great things for Emily to do by my side while I scrap or sew. We've enjoyed making little dolls together.
We had a disturbed night but still managed to get through the day. We had leftover lasagne from last night for dinner. A quiet night folding more washing!
The process
Here's how the process worked:
- Snap photos on my phone
- Snap photos on my camera (Canon G16) and upload them automatically using my Eye Fi card
- Jot notes about my schedule on Hello Mornings worksheet (Ali's daily sheets are perfect for WITL, but I was already using Hello Mornings ones each day)
- Write a few notes about my day in a journal.
- Pull my phone photos into the Project Life App
- Browse my camera photos on the Crashplan App (or the Flickr App depending on the day!) and save them to my phone.
- Make the page in the Project Life App. Here's my tutorial
- I selected Design F and Midnight kit to keep the pages simple - no color clashing to worry about!
- Save as a 12x12
In 2011 and 2012 I created a simple hybrid album, which you can see here.

Well after seeing your first post about this, I decided to check out Ali’s site and then I decided to give this a try. Great layout and I think an even better way to keep it simple and not let it get out of hand. I am attempting this week in the life and documenting through the collect app. Not sure how I am going to put it all together yet though.

These are great things to record, and the routine means you’re more likely to do it and do it consistently. Cool!
