Week in the Life Album Walkthrough

October 27, 2014 By Melissa Shanhun 8 Comments

Finishing Week in the LifeOver the past few years I've participated in Ali Edward's Week in the Life. In 2012, I even wrote about a few ideas I had for doing it digi style.

The truth is I never quite got around to scrapping those pages.

But, I have an album to  show for it. How can that be?

For Make it Monday today, I'm walking you through my super simple solution to two unscrapped years of week in the life. Oh and there's a freebie to be had - my day of the week overlay cut files.

My big day!

The process

Here's how the process worked:

  1. Snap photos and upload them automatically using my Eye Fi card
  2. Jot notes on Ali's daily sheets
  3. Blog some quick posts about my day
  4. Select a favourite photo to feature
  5. Creat a 8x8 photo collage in Picasa for each day
  6. Print the post, collage and fave photos
  7. Cut and Adhere to Bind-it-all inner pages (from my Spotlight Zutter haul in 2010!)
  8. Cut daily title pages with Silhouette Cameo
  9. Embellish the title pages with Amy Tangerine supplies.
  10. Assemble all the pages
  11. Use Bind-it-all Acrylic sheets to create the covers
  12. Use Bind-it-all to punch and bind the pages

The Plan for 2014

This year I'm documenting our week with my iPhone 6 Plus, our new Canon G16 and the Project Life App. I'll be back each day this week to share my progress.

I won't be using Ali's daily sheets - though I did in 2011, 2012 and 2013!

Instead I'm using my Hello Mornings worksheets to record my weekdays, and adding more details in my journal.

I'll be creating pages in the Project Life App using Design F and the Midnight Kit. I'll pull photos from my 'big camera' in via the Crashplan App.

Keeping it simple will help me get it done!

Wonderful book. I haven’t taken on Week in the life yet. Maybe this would be the way for me to try it.

I’ve been thinking about doing this project. However I think my life is truly dull. I am a child-less work from home woman. My week is kinda boring. 🙂

Karen – this year I’m actually doing one card to feature something ‘routine’ each day. Like morning routine, how I plan weekends etc. I’m sure there’s lots we do just out of habit that are worth documenting 🙂
