You used to love scrapbooking but sometimes it just doesn't feel fun any more. Here is my cheat's guide to scrapbooking...also known as guilt free photo FUN! These 10 tips will help you bring the joy back into your scrapbooking.
10. Don't scrapbook all your photos
You took 172 photos at your daughter's birthday party, but it isn't necessary to scrapbook all 172. You don't even have to scrapbook 162 of those pictures. You could just scrap your favorite handful. It's ok, the scrappy police won't come after you!
9. Use templates and quick pages
Keep things simple! If you aren't feeling particularly creative it's absolutely ok to take advantage of a template or quick page. Let someone else do the design work so you can focus on telling your story.
8. Use Project Life
Project Life is wonderful due to it's simplicity. And with the Project Life App you can scrap from your phone. Doesn't get much easier than that!
7. Let someone else do it for you
There is a whole business around scrapping for hire. Do a google search to find someone to scrap those photos for you. Done and done.
6. Let Shutterfly do it for you
Shutterfly photobooks make it easy to scrap your photos. Simply upload your pics, place them into the album and you can be done. Add a bit of journaling for extra pizazz.
5. Use Blurb to suck everything from your blog
If you blog regularly about your life you've pretty much already done all the hard stuff. Use Blurb to pull the info into a book. You'll love to have all that life stuff in one handy printed place.
4. Use Persnickety to suck everything in from Instagram
Many of us tell the story of our life through photos, and we share those photos on Instagram. Did you know that Persnickety Prints will help you pull those photos from instagram and print them out? Well they will, and you can!
3. Make photo collages
It's simple to create a photo collage in Photoshop Elements using the Create Tab. This collage could be printed used on a paper or hybrid page, or you could open the PSD and add in some digital supplies. Of course, you could keep it simple and just stick with the finished collage.
2. Don't use photos
Sometimes you have a story to tell and no photos to use. It's ok! You can scrapbook with just your own words. No photo necessary.
1. Don't scrapbook at all
There I said it! You don't have to scrapbook, you can burn your journals and you're life will still be worth living.
If you just aren't feeling it, remember it is hobby, and purely optional part of life.
PS You will be happier if you scrapbook, the research proves it!
