I love seeing what scrapbookers are creating from around the world. Today I've invited Sonja to share what she's creating. This beautiful page was a hybrid creation and tells the story of her Please give Sonja a warm welcome! I hope her page inspire you too!

Meet Sonja
Sonja is based in West Columbia, South Carolina and has been a scrapbooker since 1997.
What inspires you to create?
A prompt, a photo, a sketch, a story, a kit, a new tool, new supplies, someone else’s layout, a new technique, rediscovered old supplies….
This layout was inspired by the alternate prompt from the Layout a Day challenge Where/when would you travel in a time-traveling DeLorean? plus the sketch below.
Journalling
The journaling reads: Our 1st photos together - Sonja, age 1. My maternal Aunt Lydia took care of me after I was born, when Mom went back to work. We spent hours together every day, especially since Mom and Aunt Lydia still lived together in the same apartment, meaning she was there, day and night, even when Mom was home. Aunt Lydia died on September 7, 1959, from an enlarged heart. I was 3-1/2 years old. I don’t remember her at all, except from old black-&-white photos, or stories Mom told me. If I had a time-traveling DeLorean, like in the movie “Back to the Future,” I would travel back to 1956 and there I’d meet my godmother, my Aunt Lydia, once more. I’d get to know her all over again - and this time, I’d remember. Sonja & Aunt Lydia - all photos from 1957.
Create the Look
The filigree corner used on the gray swirled cardstock and on the journaling block is “Damask_Scroll_Right.png,” downloaded from the internet and available here.
I printed it directly on the 12x12 background cardstock using an Epson Stylus Photo R1900 wide format printer.
The journaling block was assembled in Microsoft Picture It! Photo Premium 7.0, using “printable-graph-paper-tenth-inch-grid.png” downloaded from the internet and available here.
I trimmed it, resized it, faded it, added the filigree corners, and typed in my journaling using a custom font made from my handwriting.
