Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too. Today I’m sharing a page about my church.
Layout: My Favourite Place
Create the look
For a story-heavy page, I find it helpful to begin with the journalling and just type it all out.
I love using a handwriting font for my journalling to add a personal touch.
Select a few photos and resized them all to fit in a column. Add a white border - as I do on most pages to help the photos stand out!
For a dark background, white journalling and title always looks great.
You can add interest to the title with a ribbon and strip of patterned paper to finish the page.
Journaling
I love church. I love to sing, I love playing keys, and love to hear practical Bible-based messages. I love seeing the servant heart and the giving that happens.
I've been going to True North Church since the turn of the century. Back then it was actually called Whitford Church of Christ. The church is non-denominational under the banner of the Churches of Christ in Australia.
The first thing that drew me in was the excellence of the music ministry. Then the honest and down to earth teaching of Mark Wilson. I wasn't keen to go back to a 'mainline' church, but I love it now.
When we moved to Kalgoorlie, we fellowshipped at Kalgoorlie Baptist Church, which Phill attended. I enjoyed making lots of friends there and volunteered to help with the Sunday service programs and the Next Level Young Adults group.
We moved back to Perth in 2010 and made the 30 min trip from Bicton to Mullaloo each Sunday and to Gwelup for Life Group. It was worth it to stay connected to fellowship while we built our new home. Now we are pastored by Dean Groetzinger and Phil Ingham as True North Church.
My favourite place? On stage, singing and playing my heart out worshipping God.
