Last week I shared how I'm combining digital and paper layouts in my album (with a splash of Project Life Olive Edition)
You already know I'm a big fan of using time-saving shortcuts in my scrapbooks, so it won't surprise you that I created the pages I'm sharing today with a cool tool that does the scrapping for you.
It's not quickpages, or templates, but something different altogether. An almost magical tool that starts with a blank canvas and pulls in the photos and journal cards that you want to use in up to 7 different pocket page layouts...
What could this be?
Here's the scoop direct from the designer, Wendyzine:
Want a faster way to scrap? An easier way to catch up on all those piles of photos? Want to escape from the guilt of unscrapped photos? Or, maybe you just have project that you'd like to work on digitally! These actions help you scrap pocket-style pages using any photos, papers or journal cards in your stash. And, even better, they also work with Becky Higgins' Project Life digi supplies.
How does it work? Really it's quite simple! Choose the layout you want to scrap from the 7 layout options provided. Prepare some photos, papers and journal cards (at least know where to find them on your computer). Then, run the action. It will lead you through the steps of placing your items on the page, cropping them and arranging them. When you're done, add journaling and save a JPG for print and web.
It's a super flexible system. You can choose the "regular" version or the "alternate" version of the actions. (The alternate versions use papers or photos instead of PNG journal cards.) And, choose between the All-in-One actions to scrap the entire page, or just the individual pocket actions to scrap a page over time.
So, if you've been held back from creating Pocket Pages because you really wanted it to be digi, now's the time to try it!
So, I tried it.
Here's the Project Life style pages I created using Wendyzine's Scrap it Actions.
Journalling
1st January 2012
Starting the year with a bang, celebrating Lauren’s 21st birthday with family and friends.
A beautiful blue, yellow and white cocktail party with take home glasses for the guests!
I love you Lauren
Journalling
While Phill was on leave was filled out time cooking, doing jobs around the house. Phill found an awesome pizza tray in the sales when he went back to work.. It only just fits in our new oven!
I had to rebuild my puzzle a few times due to little hands, but with Mum Shanhun’s help I got it done!
My Silhouette Cameo finally arrived after 2months of waiting and Emily were excited to try it out!

I am excited to try this action when I get Photoshop loaded on my new computer. Now where did I leave that disc with the license?

Thanks for the great tutorial. I have been on the fence about upgrading to Photoshop 11. I bought your Organizing supplies last year and thought It would be very different in Photoshop 11 (I have Photoshop Elements10). THANKS!

Thanks Gela. It’s a bit of a change – but I think it is well worth it. I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial

I hadn’t seen this action by Wendy but it’s awesome! I created a similar layout just yesterday using a number of my floral images in order to get multiples on just one page.
You can read more about it here if you wish.
