Today I'm sharing a page I spent a long time thinking about doing... my Nan and Pop's wedding.
A couple of years ago I scrapped a page about my Grandma and Grandad's wedding, just sharing what I knew about the story. I always wanted to scrap a second page for my other grandparents and when my mum asked me to scan their wedding portrait, I jumped at the chance.
Heritage photos seem a little intimidating to scrap at times, I suppose because there are so few photos, each one seems especially precious. I love the fact that with digital scrapbooking I can always come back and add bits of information as I find them or tweak the design if I like.
Heritage Wedding Layout
Journalling
26 January 1957
A blazing hot Australia Day saw Alice Daniels and Bruce Okely married at Bassendean Methodist Church surrounded by family and friends. Afterwards, 60 family and a few close friends joined them for the wedding breakfast. Which consisted of cold meat and salad with fruit salad for dessert. 56 years on they are still best friends.

The Process
I took my earlier layout from 2009 as the basis for this layout. I guess you could say I scraplifted myself. The original layout was from a template by Wendyzine, who you may remember from last week's automagic scrapbooking post.
I removed a few of the existing layers and used the same title and positioning of the photo. I used one of the papers from the paper strips in the original layout.
I used my favourite handwriting font (my own!)
I love that I've now got these layouts done, now I just need to print Nan and Pop's and put it alongside Grandma and Grandad in my album. I just love my printed layouts.
The Takeaway
I love shortcuts, in this layout, I used a kit that I knew I liked for a similar topic so I limited my time selecting papers and embellishments. Even though the kits I used were four years old, I love the end result.
I scraplifted myself - and even then it was all based on a template. I used my go to font for the journalling, which I paraphrased from the story my grandparents wrote in their memoir.
As you scrap more, you will have a collection of layouts that will be able to look back on, and you can re-use the aspect you like about them. You'll be a faster scrapper, but you'll also be honing your skills and developing your personal style.
