Have you got Timehop? The Timehopp app is a fun way to look back at your social media timeline.
Available on Android and iPhone, Timehop will remind you each morning to look at what you were doing online 1, 2, or even 8 years ago. You can even install their Sync app on your desktop to have reminder from your photo library.
I've enjoyed looking at this app and it's become a wealth of scrapbooking ideas for me!
Here's just some of the ways Timehop has inspired my pages:
Then and Now
I saved some of my favourite outfits for my little girl Lucy so I've just begun spotting photos of Emily in the same clothes, at almost a year older. It was so striking to see the difference in size between the two little girls that I had to include that in my 12 month layout for Lucy's baby album. See the bottom right pocket? Same windcheater- Emily is 2 and Lucy is 1 those photos.
Photos I've Missed
I don't know about you but with three of four devices that take photos, and little hands who love to take selfies, I've often discovered photos I've missed. Here's a page I created of just the photos Emily took one day.
Happy Memories
Sometimes we take photos in the moment, thinking 'I'll want to scrap that!' and then forget all about it?
This photos is one of those moments, and when I see this kind of happy photo pop up in Timehop I'll be keen to sit down and scrap!
Quotables
I enjoy looking back through through the status updates as well as the photos and videos on Timehop. These short little sentences can be great jumping off points or even all the journalling you'll need for a layout.
When I created this layout, I used one quotable I saw in the app, then browsed around my Facebook feed for more gems to finish this layout:
Seasonal Scrapping
If you love playing with seasonal supplies and kits, Timehop is a great way to keep an eye out for photos from the same time last year. When see your first summer barbecue photo come up in your feed, you can go shopping and justify that purchase by scrapping right away!
Just the other day I saw I camping photo in my Timehop and I know there's a lot of new camping kits out in time for the northern hemisphere summer, so I can easily scrap them now with some of the latest releases. No more putting off using supplies until after the next time we go camping!
Themes through the Year
When you see your photos one day at a time you begin to notice patterns. Some I've seen:
- Babies like pears! I've had cute videos of all three of ours eating pears. Maybe I need to scrap that?
- I take lots more photos when I walk in cold weather!
- We have lots of backyard picnics.
- I need to get in more photos! (I've actually started doing this last year!)
- Our house has a lot of light - this is intentional and I need to scrap about how and why we made this house light and bright.
- Children bringing things inside: sticks, rocks, flowers, weeks, passionfruit. I have a lot of photos of little 'gifts' I receive.
Ok, so have I convinced you that you need to run and download Timehop? I hope so!
