The digital scrapbooking community has been mourning the loss of talented designer Amber Shaw. Amber recently lost her life alongside her husband Larry, and their 12 year old son, Elijah in a house fire. Their 17 year old daughter survived the fire, but is in the hospital with injury. The news has hit the digital scrapbooking community hard. Many people have wondered how they can help.
The designers at Sweet Shoppe Designs, The Lilypad, The Digital Press & OScraps have come together on a very special project to celebrate Amber in our own special way. Follow Your Dreams, a collab created with her favorite colors in the spirit of her design legacy, will be our community's gift to you when you donate $20 or more to the family's Go Fund Me campaign. To receive Follow Your Dreams, simply forward your Go Fund Me donation confirmation email to challenges@sweetshoppedesigns.com, and they'll reply back to your message with information on how you can pick up this special collaboration as their way of saying "Thank You" for helping support the people Amber loved.
In addition, Amber had new product releases with Becky Higgins Project Life that went live the week after her passing. She was one of the winners of a design contest for their Simple Notebooks. The Project Life team had this to say:
We were heartbroken to learn of Amber's passing just days before these notebooks became available for sale - she, her husband and her 12-year old son were taken much too soon in a house fire. She is survived by 3 children. We will be donating proceeds from these notebooks to her surviving family to help with funeral expenses and to help as they rebuild their lives without their parents and youngest brother.
NOTE: Amber's notebook design is currently sold out. So to continue to contribute toward Amber's family Becky Higgins has decided to donate proceeds from this notebook as well.
Amber's store will remain open at Sweet Shoppe Designs, until 11:59pm on June 30th, 2018. All sales made in her store through that date will be paid to her as directed in her designer contract. From there the court appointed executor or administrator of her estate will close her PayPal account and distribute those funds according to the law.
Amber will remain in our hearts, and her art can continue to live on in our scrapbooks.
