When I saw this class, I just knew I had I had to share it with you! So today I've invited Kelly Sill, Scrapaneers instructor, to share with you how this class can help you have a stress free Christmas!
Even though it is the middle of November, the holiday season is in full swing here in the U.S. with our Thanksgiving Holiday coming up at the end of the month. Thanksgiving and Christmas commercials have appeared on TV and Christmas decorations are already being displayed in stores and yes, even in some homes! There’s nothing like the media and your “Always-Ahead-of-the-Game” neighbor to make you feel totally stressed and disorganized during this time of year, right?
This year why not grab Christmas by the reigns of Santa’s sleigh get yourself organized? I mean wouldn’t it be nice to have everything you reference during the Christmas season all in one place? Say, for instance, in a Holiday Planner?
Since I started using pocket pages, it became clear to me that these pages can be used for more than just storing photos, they can be used as an organization tool! This idea was the drive behind me creating a series of workshops at Scrapaneers called K.I.T. {Keep It Together}. The K.I.T {Keep It Together}: Holiday Edition is a workshop where you create a planner to keep everything you need for the holidays all in one place! Let’s take a little tour of the planner and how it can help with many “Bah Hum Bug” moments we seem to have during the holiday season:
Problem: “I can’t keep my important dates straight!!! I showed up at my dentist’s office when I was really supposed to be at my daughter’s school play!”
The planner’s Calendar Section has calendars for November, December and January. It includes markers with pre-determined events such as “mail cards & packages” and also blank ones for you to fill in. There is also an “important dates” page for you to place at the back this section.
Problem: “Where did Aunt Laura move to again? And didn’t your cousin move to a new apartment?”
The planner’s Address Section has plenty of room for you to record names and addresses of those you send Christmas cards to! There are also fun filler cards for you to attach special holiday postage stamps and even keep a copy of your card and yearly Christmas letter.
Problem: “What do you think your nieces and nephews would like for Christmas this year? What size sweater does your mother wear again?”
The Gift List section of the planner is my favorite section. Print out a page for each person on your gift-giving list and fill it in with their information. Having this information will help to spark gift ideas! There are also fun filler cards for stocking stuffer ideas, too!
Problem: “Do we need to replace the tree lights this year? Do you remember what that wreath looked like in that craft magazine?”
Keep all of your decorating ideas in the Decoration Section of the planner. There is a “Decoration Inventory” list for you to keep track of what you have and what needs to be replace. Filler cards are included for you to attach decorating ideas that you may have clipped from magazines or newspapers
Problem: “Where is Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie recipe? I used it as a bookmark to mark the spot of the green bean casserole and it’s not there anymore.”
Many of use have special recipes we only use during the holidays. Wouldn’t it be nice to have them all in one place rather than having to take out 10 different recipe books or magazines? Keep them all gathered in the Recipe Section of the planner!
How’s that for problem-solving? I can’t even begin to tell you how nice it is to have all of this information in one place!
The KIT: Holiday Planner Workshop is a self-paced, hybrid workshop where you will learn how to create a 6x8 Holiday Planner using pocket-style pages that will help you keep track of everything holiday related. The kit is large, functional and contains November 2015–January 2018 Calendar Pages, making it a 3-year planner! Even better–when you register for a class at Scrapaneers, you have access to the classroom, all its materials and any updates to the class for the lifetime of the site! So if I make any additions to the class and materials, you will be able to download them! How cool is that?
