Today we continue my series of photo organizing tips, this week I'll show you how to make things easier on yourself.
Photo Organizing Tip 2: Choose Software to Do the Heavy Lifting
If you are manually importing photos from your phone or camera you are doing it wrong!
You can now use auto-magic software to import and file photos away no matter what device you are using. Andriod, iPhone or big-girl camera you need a system that takes your photos and adds them to your home base with a minimum of fuss.
I simply turn on my camera and my computer and voila! The files are automatically imported, filed into folders and added to my organization system. It even tags the photos for me!
What system do I use? A Wifi enabled camera + Photoshop Elements Organizer 2018.
My Canon G16 point and shoot camera has wifi connectivity, so whenever the camera and computer are both connected to my home wifi network, the photos are automatically downloaded. When I open Photoshop Elements Organizer, it sees the new photo and imports into my photo library. Photoshop Elements 2018 even automatically analyses and tags my photos too!
Action Step: What photo organizing software do you already have on your computer? Are you happy with it? If you aren't using it, share why in the comments below.
Happy Organizing!
PS Of course, you really can do things manually if you prefer. But I like making the computer earn its keep!

Do you prefer Photoshop Elements Organizer 2018 over using the Forever Historian software?
Melissa Shanhun says
Hi Beth, I’ve not worked enough with Historian to be able to compare them.
Are you a Historian user? What features are you looking for in an organising program?
I do love PSE 2018, but if you already use Historian, or used CMMM in the past its probably fine to stick with that 🙂 Melissa
