Diving into Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024, there's so much to unpack. If you’re like me and love playing around with photos, you’re going to want to stick around.
When you first open Photoshop Elements 2024, you're greeted by a welcome screen. You've got three options: the Organizer, the Photo Editor, and the Video Editor. Already, we’re off to a good start, right?
The Organizer is great for sorting out all those photos you’ve got scattered everywhere. The Photo Editor? That’s where the magic happens. And if you’re into videos, the Video Editor has got you covered.
At the top of the screen, there are some tutorials and info showing off what Photoshop Elements can do. It’s like having a little guide right there with you. And don’t forget the auto creations—turn those on for some automatic photo fun.
One of the coolest things is the search box. If you’re ever stuck or need to find something specific, just type it in. For example, if you type in “old photo,” you can either give a photo an old-fashioned look or freshen up an old scanned photo. Super handy!
Now, let’s talk about the Photo Editor. When you first open it, you're in Quick Mode. This is where you can make fast edits with tools, adjustments, effects, quick actions, textures, and frames. It’s all laid out for you.
Then there's Guided Edit. If you’re not sure about a certain edit, this is your go-to. It’s got different categories, and you can search for exactly what you need. Like I said, type in “old photo” and see the magic unfold.
Next up is the Advanced tab. This one’s for those who are familiar with Photoshop CC. It’s got all your tools on the left side, a layers panel, and you can choose between a basic or custom workspace. I personally love the custom workspace.
Jumping back to Quick Mode, the first thing you’ll want to do is open a photo that needs editing. This is where the fun starts. You can make basic edits, add text, crop, and print your photos.
If you’re keen to learn more, I’ve got a class called Photo Editing for Absolute Beginners. It’s all new with a fresh classroom setup that’s super easy to use. Plus, if you’re a YouTube subscriber, use code YOUTUBE10 for $10 off the class.
Catch you later and happy editing!
