Please give a warm welcome to our featured designer - Tanja from Finland. Tanja has made an awesome album with my new class Simple Family Yearbook. Here's how it worked for her.
Melissa
I won Melissa's Simple Family Yearbook class at the ScrapSmarter Experience online event in September 2020. I was excited to create a quick photo book about 2019! I downloaded Photoshop Elements, imported my photos into PSE Organizer and used the Auto Curate function to automatically select 250 photos out of all the photos we took in 2019. I then narrowed those down to the best 120 and uploaded them to Shutterfly. I chose my favourite photo book template and used the Make My Book service to have the Shutterly staff create the book for me. All I had to do was add some captions and I was done!
With the help of Melissa's class, this was a pretty quick and easy process. I did have some trouble getting the Auto Curate function to work at first – apparently, PSE Organizer was still processing the catalogue when I tried to apply it, which made it freeze, but it worked fine on the following day. It was interesting to see which photos the Auto Curate function selected. It's clearly optimized for people photos, so many of our travel and nature photos didn't make it into the book.
The Shutterfly Make My Book service worked great, and although shipping to Finland was quite expensive, I'm really happy with the finished product!
