Inside Patrice’s Album: A Halloween Layout

Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too. While I'm away from the computer on maternity leave I've invited my readers to share their creations with you!

What inspires you to create?

This layout was born from my inspiration to create digital layouts over Halloween. Although I had paper scrapped some of the years past, I decided to do one digital layout for each of my daughter’s ten previous Halloweens. I was just really enjoying the process so I went with it. I find my inspiration tends to come and go, although I do know that the more I create, the more I want to create. I try to do something crafty at the very least, once a week. Since I’ve started homeschooling my daughter, I create almost every day.
There wasn’t any one particular source that inspired me to create this layout. I was enjoying the process of using some of the Halloween kits I had purchased on One Buck Wednesday at Snap Click Supply, and thought the Dear Lizzy Documentary paper suited the photos.

Did you use any special techniques?

I used the Essential Styles from Mommyish to give some of the digital elements dimension and an epoxy look. I used the Glitter Styles from Just Jaimee to glitter the skulletts. I clipped pattern paper to the doily mask and stitching to match the layout.

How long have you been scrapping/crafting?

My scrapping story is a lengthy one and if you’d like to know the full version it can be found on my blog here. The short version is I’ve been crafting most of my life and started scrapping in the modern sense around 2000. I was always a hybrid scrapper, using my computer for photo collages and journaling, but just this year began creating completely digital layouts in Photoshop CC.
