Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too. Today I’m sharing a page without a photo all about a good old telephone!
Layout: Telephone
How I did it
This page follows the rule of thirds, I had a lot of journalling so it ended up being a photo-less page.
I used a big text box and clipped some neutral paper down to size.
For the title I use a line of type and I added some text styles.
I would probably go back and add a little telephone embellishment if I was going to change anything.
Journaling
Aah, Phones.
I loved to answer the phone as a child! I'd race to be the first to answer when I could.
We just had the one phone line with a phone in the study and the kitchen.
In around 1999/2000 we got a second phone line to that we could have the internet/ECU modem pool connected that way, before ADSL was around.
In 2003 I got my first mobile phone, a Nokia 3315 in silver. I barely used it for calls unless I needed to, SMS was the cheaper way to go.
In 2006 my old Dell X30 PDA died, and though I did turn back to some trusty Nokias Dad had stashed away, we replaced it with a new O2 Atom Exec phone. I had my phone and PDA in one! This phone was awesome and I enjoyed using it until in 2010 the batteries, WiFi antennae and finally the whole thing gave way.
Then I went back to using a 'dumb' phone for a while until Phill came home on his birthday in 2011 with a new white iPhone 4S for me.
I got a brand new Nokia Lumia 925 for my birthday in 2013, but when I dropped Phill's phone and smashed the screen and the digitizer, I gave that to phone back to Phill and returned to my iPhone.
I'm still conflicted about Windows vs iPhone and I still long for the days of a stylus and handwriting recognition, but for now I'll continue babying my iPhone along until I can work out which way to go.
As for the landline, we have had VOIP since 2007 and I am just not a big fan of talking on the phone. Perhaps I did my dash speaking with Phill for hours every night while we were engaged!
