Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too.
Today I’m sharing a page from my family’s album about playing Pokemon Go.
Layout: Pokemon
How I did it
Big photos were the basis for this layout.
After I placed a few smaller augmented-reality Pokemon shots to the blank areas of the photo, I decided to add the journalling to the road. I use content aware tools to stretch out the road to make the photo take up the whole left hand page.
To create the journalling I used the custom shape tool to draw a triangle. I rotated it to approximately align with the road, added type inside the box. I delete the triangle shape at the end to reveal the photo behind.
Added a bit of fun embellishments and appropriate word arti and it was done!
Journaling
I held out on downloading Pokemon GO for a couple of weeks, as I never played any console games growing up and didn’t get the hype. But after two weeks, I was curious! After catching our first pokemon, the children and I were hooked.
Uncle John was playing and were thrilled to find out we had (accidentally) joined the same team, Valor! So we had a fun afternoon hitting the gyms and turning them red.
We discovered Netflix has the anime series, so now even Lucy sings “I wanna be the very best”. The children love to catch Pokemon and spin the stops and would collect items while I drive.
After I broke about 4 screen protectors in a month, I ordered the Pokemon Go Plus and now we can grab the Pokestops easily throughout the day, plus it tracks distance more accurately.
Phill got hooked while we were in Port Elliot - he saw me catch a Pikachu then he went on to catch 30 different types in the weekend and even snagged a Dratini. He had a Pokestop at his dest at work and Elizabeth Quay is a hotspot. It's only taken about a month and he's now only one level behind me!
We’ve found lots of new parks and landmarks nearby thanks to Pokemon. My step graph is trending upwards, and I feel so motivated to walk double the distance on my morning walks. Even Phill is getting out and about more during the day at work.
It may be silly, but we love Pokemon!
