Each week I share a scrapbook layout to inspire you to play with pretty pixels. Today I've asked Liberty Cameron from Liberty's Layouts to share some of her gorgeous pages!
Liberty's Layouts
What inspires you to create?
I am inspired to create so that I can tell my story. I use my scrapbooking as a way of journaling and keeping a record of my story. I LOVE photos, but I don't just want them sitting on my hard drive without the stories recorded. I use my scrapbooks to combine my photos with my journal and use it as a way to record my story for future generations. My son always teases me that when I'm old and I forget, I can just read all of my scrapbooks because I have EVERYTHING written down. {He's kind of right!} I can almost always find a photo or a story that I want to remember and more often than not I can settle a debate because it's all recorded in my scrapbooks!!
Because I use it to tell my story, and because I have a bad memory and want to have it all written down, I try to stay as current as possible. I try to scrapbook a little each week and stay caught up on the "theme" pages. I use my Facebook and Instagram posts to help me remember my everyday photos and I create a monthly page each month to capture all of my random photos that don't work on the theme pages.
Which digi supplies or designers do you use?
I am on the creative design team for Fayette Designs so I use a lot of her designs. I also love everything at Sweet Shoppe Designs and I love, love, love fonts!!
What kind of printer or other supplies do you prefer?
I do all digital albums now, at one point I never thought I would ever say that, but I LOVE not having to get out all the mess to create a page or two. I print my albums with Blurb and I love their quality. I usually have 125-150 pages a year in an album and they look great in the hardcover albums sitting on my shelf!
Any special layouts you want to share about?
My most treasured album is a 160 page book of my mom's cancer journey. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but when I need to feel her close and read about her journey, I'm so grateful that I can pull my book off the shelf and read all of my feelings from those horrible 4 months. I put my heart and soul into that album and I can feel her close every time I look through it.
How long you've been scrapping/crafting?
I've been scrapbooking since 1999 when my son was born. I wanted to record everything he did and all of the photos I took of him....and of course I cut all the photos into shapes and glued them onto paper with some kind of glue that you can never pull apart!! {oh the good old days!}
My name is Liberty Cameron, my user name is lbrtychic or libertyslayouts and I live in the suburbs of Chicago. I've lived here for about 17 years and I love it {except the weather!!} I have one son who is almost 19 and is my greatest joy!
