Hello Story: Win a Seat in Ali Edwards’ New Class

June 18, 2013 By Melissa Shanhun 153 Comments

Ali Edwards was one of the first scrapbooking blogs I followed, and even then in 2008 I wasn't exactly the first to discover her. Ali has been scrapbooking since 2002 and had become a well loved author, blogger and teacher.

Ali's combination of modern design with storytelling has set her apart as a leader in the memory keeping movement.

The last class I took from Ali (Yesterday Today) helped me create 8 meaningful scrapbook layouts, a whole folder filled with notes about the length and breadth of my life as well as stage I was in during early 2011.

This July, Ali will be sharing her brand new class Hello Story.

Inside will be 12 new techniques to simplify your writing process. These techniques will help you enjoy writing down your life stories. through few words and many words as the story requires.

I know that this class will be nothing short of inspiring.

What's new and different about Hello Story?

Here's Stacy Julian's take on the class. She's the founder of Big Picture Classes and was so excited that she felt she needed to share more about it.

Don't you love Stacy's enthusiasm?

Here's the details

HelloStoryBanner

Hello Story 12 weeks of creative storytelling techniques with Ali Edwards

What's your story? This summer, say hello to a dozen fun strategies for sharing more of your words, and more of yourself, on your scrapbook pages.

In her new 12-week workshop, Hello Story, Ali Edwards will introduce you to 12 storytelling techniques—never-before-seen in her prior journaling workshops—that will bring creativity and clarity to both your writing and your page designs. Every week, you get to sit over Ali's shoulder and watch her transform her story ideas into timeless, authentic, story-rich scrapbook pages.

Through dozens of in-depth videos that cover storytelling and design ideas as well as 36+ exclusive layout examples from Ali (12" x 12" and 8 1/2" x 11" layouts, plus Project Life inserts), Hello Story will inspire you to take action and give you the tools you need to tell your own stories with confidence.

Are you ready to discover (or rediscover) the fun that comes from the interplay of design and words? By the end of class, you may even enjoy the writing process just as much as you love taking photos and playing with paint and paper!

Hello Story includes:

  • Inspiring weekly videos from Ali
  • Colorful instructional handouts with step-by-step instructions for each lesson/project
  • Printable digital elements in PNG and PDF formats that relate to the weekly storytelling technique
  • Supply list with live links to product resources—each weekly handout will include a list of supplies used on the example pages
  • Welcome notes from Ali in the classroom
  • Class syllabus and pre-class welcome video
  • Reminder emails when the classroom is updated with new materials
  • Message board to share your thoughts with your classmates
  • Private posting gallery to share your work and view the work of your classmates
  • An interactive video chat with Ali
  • Email access to Ali

You don't want to miss out - so go book your spot now! If you win, Big Picture will credit you for the class.

I like Ali’s clean and sophisticated style, but most of all I just LOVE reading her ‘stories’ and seeing how she captures her memories. Wish I could do the same!

What do I love about Ali’s style? Her style was distinctively different than most of what I saw when I first got into scrapbooking. It was modern and not overloaded with froo-froo, so it helped me envision that I could indeed scrap in a way that made sense to me (and for scrapping photos of my boys). I love how her style focuses on real life everyday photos and stories.

I love that Ali’s style just seems ‘real’, not like the almost-too-perfect layouts I see on magazine covers. I also love that she tells meaningful stories and that it’s kind of freestyle, but still follows basic design principles.
