I was inspired this morning by my friend Ronnie Crowley to share how I create.

I sew in centimetres. I scrap in inches. I knit English. I cross stitches the 'wrong' way. I embroider left-handed. I cut right-handed. I cook in grams and Australian cups & spoons. I paint, I draw, I write. #howyoucreate #howdoyoucreate

I was born and bred on the Metric System but since discovering quilting about 19 years ago I constantly talk, measure & work in Inches and yards…….

I was born into the metric system. Emigrated into the British imperial system. Had to learn the 12x tables and a funny way of counting money. Reconverted to the metric system. Now I’m a proper mixed up person. I say the alphabet in two languages, never in one alone. I measure things both ways. I scrapbook in inches. Make cards depending on where I saw the idea. My cutting mat is in metric but my ruler has to have both systems. Teaching craft is confusing. Some folk are using the metric system, others the imperial system. Others are as confused as I am. Life is interesting and always challenging. I just thank God for sorting out my confusion.
