How often you to take time to tell your story?
Maybe you have a few all about me layouts?
But, how about your childhood?
Jennifer's video touched my heart, I know that I'm excited to share more of my own story for my little ones, and for me.
Telling my Own Story
I pulled out an old photo and decided, there's no time like the present to tell a little snippet of my own story.
As a young girl I was so excited to have my first ‘real’ party. Mum and I wrote invitations to my school and dance friends and 8 came! It was a very hot day for April, so the party was moved outside into the garage.
Mum drew a big Miss Piggy for "pin the tail on Miss Piggy" and I helped decorate her. I adored Miss Piggy's luscious blonde hair and exuberant personality. We had lemonade, sausage rolls, frankfurts, dim sims, cheezels, home made toffees, and of course cake! I loved the ballerina on my cake!
To me it was a perfectly elegant party, and my handmade, smocked dress was the best dress I could have worn.
I actually remember more about setting up the party than the actual event, and I can't even remember opening presents!
Before Your Story
A Simple Approach to Autobiographical Scrapbooking, from Birth to Adulthood
About the Class
There are milestone events in life, such as marriage and motherhood, that divide us permanently into a "before" and an "after." It's easy to become so immersed in the after—the glorious here and now—that our "befores" rarely appear in our scrapbooks.
In this 6-week workshop with Jennifer Wilson of SimpleScrapper.com, you'll have all the guidance you need to tell your growing-up story in one gorgeous 12" x 12" pocket album. Her class combines the ease of slipping photos and journaling cards into photo sleeves with the brilliance of Stacy Julian's "Library of Memories" scrapbooking categories.
Jennifer excels at making big goals reachable and overwhelming projects finish-able, with her step-by-step processes and detailed planning worksheets. You'll complete a simple, streamlined album that will help your spouse or partner catch up on the years leading up to the moment you met. Or, it's the perfect answer to that age-old question, "Mom, what were you like when you were my age?"
Class begins 2015 and is $59.00 Earlybird Price: $39.00 using the code MYSTORY20 TO SAVE $20 UNTIL 9/1.
I'll be there, and I hope you will join me!

What a great way to scrap and tell your own story! I have tons of old photos that belong in an organized album and this class would be a great way to jump start me into doing that!
Tina Smedegaard says

Now this looks like a class I would enjoy. I’m just starting a History Project. Unfortunately I don’t have a ton of old from my family photos, but I have enough to tell my story. I’m trying to create our family history for my grandkids. I sure can start with my childhool
Tammy Davis says
Would love to win a spot. I really enjoy Jennifer’s simple scrapbook approach. I really want to go back and find the pictures to tell the stories that I have verbally told my children so far. I am hoping that going back through pictures will trigger even more memories. Thanks for the chance to win!

What a great idea for a class. I think we could all use a little help telling the stories of our childhoods and the time before children. Thanks for the chance to win!
Deb.E. Ring says
Who will begin my story, but me? I’ve been wanting to do this for years, and hope that I can make the time to leave a legacy to my children and their children ~ thank you for all you do to help us document our life stories!
Laura B. says
I keep finding and printing out great photos from my childhood; I’d love to take this class to find some new ideas for using them in my scrapbooks! I have one in particular of my Dad with giraffes at an animal park that I’d like to use.
Jen says
I consider summer camp the single most formative experience of my childhood. I have very few pictures of camp, though.
Laurie LaRose says
Summer fun with cousins and friends visiting. Family Jamborees. Trips to the citiy. Christmastime as a little girl. That’s more than one! … and I think many of the stories will have to be told without photos.
Kristi G says
I’d love to win this class! I just received a ton of photos from my grandparents (on the condition that I would digitize them for family, which I did) so now I have lots of good photos of my childhood that I can use for this class!
Judith L Perry says
This sounds like a wonderful class! I am just getting started in digital scrapbooking (and loving it!) and would love winning this class!
Judith L Perry says
I would like to document the story about my stroke & recovery from that. I also would like to document the stories & memories about me & my Dad. We lost him 12 years ago, and I deeply miss him & think about all the things he taught me as I was growing up – the least of which was showing unconditional love & support to your spouse & family.
Jammie says
This will be an awesome project to take part in. I remember more snippets of my childhood than what I did last week!! Eg: going to daycare on the tank of my dads mortotbike when ther was a petrol strike. I’m a mum to a high spirited 3yo & an Austi 10 yo that keep me pretty busy to say the least & some days are just a blur. Thanks for the chance to win a spot. Got my fingers crossed….
Karen K. says
I have some favorite pictures of me when I was little, and I would like to document the stories behind those. Thanks for the chance!
Azika says
I’d like to write about how my mother made holidays and birthdays special. For instance, she hand-decorated cakes, a task that took hours as she pipped out rows of individual stars to form the faces of our favorite cartoon characters (or, in the case of my fifth birthday,a bus because I was looking forward to riding the bus to school).
Janet Trapp says
Would so love to win this class; plenty to learn here!!! I have six kids so it is hard to get beyond keeping up to go back and tell some previous stories..Wish I had started when we first got married…~God bless~
Jean says
I would like to win this class-Jennifer is a great teacher.
Lois John says
Thanks for the chance to win – Jennifer is a great teacher. I need to tell the story of how I was brought up in a cult – it will be painful but is necessary so my kids will know about it.
Hannah Knowles says
I’d love to capture the family stories we pass on and around ~ the ones that become legend to ourselves and our children ~ family folklore
Nicole Hoffman says
I would love to tell some of the stories about when I was a kid -especially ones that I think of because my kids do similar things. Like going down the stairs on a blanket, reading in weird positions (upside-down!), etc.
Alison says
I’d love to take this class – I’ve done a few childhood memories layouts but there are so many more to tackle – basically what it was like growing up in the 70’s and 80’s for me:)
Karen Freeman says
This looks like a wonderful class. Thanks for the chance to win. Love the idea of telling my story.
Melinda says
I’d love to document the fun I had as a child with my siblings, the family trips we’d go on, favorite food/dishes we ate, the pranks we’d pull on each other…oh how I miss those days!
Libby Wiers says
So many old photos and none of them scrapped to tell my growing up story! This class might be the answer.
