The Epson SureColor P706 A3+ Fine Art Inkject Printer caught my eye, and today, I’ll share my unboxing experience and initial impressions.

A Compact Beast

The pson SureColor P706 A3+ Fine Art Inkjet Printer arrives with a reputation. It’s a beast of a printer, yet surprisingly, it’s 30% smaller than its predecessor. Designed for professional photographers and fine art enthusiasts, this wireless wonder can handle A3-sized paper and even larger formats—up to 13 inches wide. And let’s not forget the roll feeder, perfect for canvas printing. So, let’s dive into unboxing this powerhouse.

What’s Inside the Box?

Here’s a concise rundown of what accompanies your printer purchase:

1. Ink Waste Replacement: Essential for maintaining the printer’s longevity.
2. Power Cable: Standard, but crucial.
3. Starter Inks: Yes, there are ten of them—two blacks (matte and photo), gray, light gray, cyan, vivid magenta, light cyan, very light magenta, yellow, and violet.

With the printer fully unboxed, assembly begins. Notably, it includes a maintenance box (with a spare—always appreciated). Now, let’s explore the supplies.

The driver CD, though somewhat outdated (given the decline of CD drives in modern computers), provides essential software. Quick start instructions and safety warnings accompany it. Additionally, there’s a tray for printing directly onto CDs. But the star of the show remains those ten starter ink cartridges—each one meticulously shaken (as instructed) to ensure flawless performance.

After installation, the printer undergoes initialization, consuming a fair amount of ink. Fear not; the starter ink is there precisely for this purpose. You’ll likely need to replenish your ink supply soon, but trust me—the results will justify it. I made sure I purchase a full set of cartridges and after a couple of 13-inch wide canvas prints those initial cartridges are getting low.

And now, the moment we’ve eagerly awaited: the printer stands ready, roll feeder at the back, tray extended at the front. Let’s witness it in action, printing on canvas. Oh, and did I mention? The printer’s interior lights up during operation—a delightful touch. The print quality? Impressive, to say the least.
