How do you prevent Photoshop Elements from loading every time you want to look at a photo?
If you have an older computer, or just want to quickly look at a photo waiting for Photoshop Elements to load can be a waste of time.
Susan asks:
When I save a picture or scrapbook page on PSE, I can't just get the picture or page without the whole PSE screen coming up with it. Is that the way it is or is there something (probably simple) that I'm doing or not doing wrong? I would like to just have the picture and not go back to PSE.
- Select Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program.
- Wait for the list of file types to load (could take a while!)
- Scroll down to .JPG
- Click on change program
- Select Windows Photo Viewer
- Click on OK, then Close to get out the dialog boxes and apply your changes.
- Now when you double click on a JPG file it will open in Windows Photo Viewer
You can follow these steps for any other file type you don't want to open in Photoshop Elements.
