Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too.
Today I’m sharing a page I created to celebrate Australia day, the 26th of January. Australia Day is our National Day to celebrate the arrival of the First Fleet of British settlers to Australia in 1688. Most of the time it's a pretty relaxed day with friends and a fireworks. Not in our own backyards, since there's a fire ban, and well, fireworks are illegal unless you are licensed to have them!
Layout: Australia Day
How I did it
This was a premade 'Quick Page' from the Lily Pad so it took no time at all!
I just put my photo on a layer, moved the quickpage on top, added some journalling and called it done! I love quick pages, you can learn more about how they work here.
Journaling
You loved having the slip and slide out a few times in summer. You just can't wait for the next Australia Day and are already planning who to invite (Jake!). Every time I mention it's a warm day, you are very keen to put on the bathers and pull out the hose.

More Inspiration
I've created a couple more pages about Australia Day over the years. This first one tells the story of my grandparent's wedding.
And here's a page from our time in Kalgoorlie.
Make it Monday
Today I'm participating in the Make it Monday blog circle... so your next step is to head over to Jen Wright Designs for a free template!
