Step 3: Act

5-Minute Challenge: Where

Open up your Organizer and choose one event held at your home from say 2006 before geotagging was around.

Add those photos to the map.

Your time begins… now

10-Minute Challenge: What

In the Events room, go into Smart Event mode and select 10 events from the past couple of years to write about. You should at least be able to cover the major holidays and family vactions.

Start now!

Note to users of PSE5 onwards

Sadly Yahoo discontinued it's mapping a short while before PSE 10 was released, so Adobe didn't include maps in PSE10

For everyone with PSE9 and earlier you may get an error if you try to use mapping due to the Yahoo issue. http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/error-address-requested-could-found.html

You can still use the tags to manually add events. I'd recommend you go to View - By Date to scroll through an select multiple images 🙂

Leave a comment below to let me know you're done - or click like to for a quick check-in.

Happy organizing!

OK, I maybe should have been a little more careful about weeding out some photos over the years. Maybe I should have read the bit about deleting crappy or missed-it photos first. Or picking the best 3 or 5 of 20 shots. I have not deleted any photos from my computer. There are at least 10 years worth. SCARY!!

BUT, I spent a little over 2 hours today, and got people sorted for a little over 2 years. I wish that would work for eagles, and deer and roses too! Now I am excited to attach the where and what as well.

Joanne – 2 hours! You are an over acheiver!

You’ll be able to create tags of deer, roses and eagle 🙂

I don’t delete (much) either. So that’s why I like the automated processes – I have LOTS of photos!

Yes, I will tag them, but it would be nice if Organizer would recognize them like it does faces LOL

I take a LOT of nature photos!

Have you tried searching for an object in the photo? That would pick them up 🙂

I have PSE10 so I’m not able to follow along. But when I upgrade, I’ll know what to do! 🙂 I love your handouts and the video lessons. Thank you for your hard work.
