Each Friday, I give you a sneak peek inside my family scrapbook. See what I’m scrapping, and grab some inspiration for your weekend.
Today I'm sharing a layout that tells the story of our long search for furniture. I'm also including a video to show you my digital scrapbooking process.
The Layout
Process
Watch as I start the process with journalling, collects photos from Facebook and creates a page about the five year saga that was selecting a lounge suite.
The photo at the top of the page is a panorama the I created for fun with our friends who sat on both side of the room to make it look like there were more people there. I took these photos back in 2007, so there was not such thing as auto-panorama on our phones or cameras then!
But, not to worry Photoshop Elements has a cool tool to help you create your own panorama.
To create a panorama
- Click the Expert tab in the Photoshop Elements editor.
- Open all the images you took to create the panorama.
- Select Enhance > Photomerge > Photomerge Panorama.
- Click Add Open Files. Click OK.
- I decided to not 'clean' edges, but for a landscape or sky - click yes.
- Wait for Photoshop Elements to do its thing
I then cropped down the end result and added it to my layout.
Journalling
Sometimes we go from the sublime to the ridiculous. Stuart had these bright blue couches that Phill was in love with. For 7.5 years no couch could come close in his mind. Once we left Kalgoorlie though, they would be no longer in our home.
After 5 years of couch hunting, moving into a new home without furniture really brought things to a head. We both liked a lounge suite Phill saw at Harvey Norman (aka Hardly Normal) Malaga. It matched our colour scheme, had adjustable headrests (Phill like high for comfort, I like the look of low). So we bought it.
A huge white leather lounge suite.
With a toddler.
Are we crazy?
We did get insurance on it though. So we aren’t completely crazy!
Thanks to Caitlin, who did about 50sqm of leather conditioning, we got it all ready to go when we moved in. And we are now regularly cleaning and conditioning it.
So far we have survived two years, and even though I can’t sit straight on the leather for 8 months of the year (it’s cold!). I am happy we made the compromise.

Have to say What a beautiful white lounge suite. Love it actually, and a great layout as well. At least with leather you can clean it easy. I brought a 10 seater black leather lounge suite when my daughter was under 2 yrs old she threw a book on it and put a wonderful split in it. But still loved it anyway.

🙂 Thanks Tracy! You are right, it’s quite easy to clean. And we did get the insurance on it for the first 5 years!!

PANARAMA PROCESS WILL NOT WORK. WHEN I CLICK “ENHANCE’ there is no Photomerge

Perhaps you are using a different version of PSE. Click on Guided then Photomerge, then Photomerge Panorama https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bd36ec56651f9a434c60254d55642f23cd17d3a2583846f5aa4c946b28afb787.png
