Creating Tags for Your Digital Supplies

January 6, 2013 By Cheryl 2 Comments

How Do I Begin the Organization Process?

You'll begin by creating tags or keyword tags to organize your digital supplies. Once this is done, Photoshop Elements Organizer makes it quick and easy to find just the right paper or element to complete your layouts.

You should start off small, with maybe just importing a couple folders at a time to keep the list small so it's not too overwhelming in the beginning, especially if you already have a large stash of digital kits and/or supplies.

You want to tag your supplies in the way in which you look for them. For instance, you may:

  • look for a particular kit - you would create a tag for each kit by its name
  • look for a favorite designer - you would create a tag for each of your
    favorite designers
  • look for a certain color - create tags for the colors you use
  • or maybe you look for a special element - you might start by creating
tags alphabetically and for the elements you'd be searching for, for
example alpha, fasteners, flowers, journaling cards, etc.

Rather than continue listing all of my tags right now, you can download three starter sets of tags, plus my full tag library when you purchase Get Organized: Supplies.

To begin using this set of tags, look underneath the "Keyword Tags" in the right hand column and click on the green plus sign and then choose "From File" and navigate to where you saved the unzipped tags that you downloaded. Select the file and click Open. They will import into Elements Organizer and a pop-up box will notify you when it has completed.

You will have a nice starter set of tags to begin organizing your supplies and can add tags as you need them based upon your method of filing.
Happy Organizing

      Hi Nicole

The zip file of tags is linked up within the lesson and also in the Video and Tag download lesson at the Daily Digi.

Let me know how you go with them – you’ll need to unzip the file before importing them.
