Have you ever wished that is was easy to back up all your photos from your computer, phones and tablets? You'll want to check out the Picture Keeper Connect.
The Picture Keeper is a small USB device that you can simply plug into your phone, tablet or computer. It will search your device and make a copy of all of you photoso and videos.
Watch my review to see it how it works for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows.
What's included with a Picture Keeper Connect?
I was sent the Picture Keeper Connect for review and it arrived securely packaged with the USB drive plus the 3-way connector for Android and MacBook devices. It also includes instructions for using it with a variety of phones and computers.
In my video review you can see me use it with an iOS, Android, Mac OS and Windows 10!
How to Use the Picture Keeper Connect
The first time you use the Picture Keeper Connect, you'll need to set up an account (for Android/iOS). Then you'll click Back Up to start backing up all your photos.
After the first time, you simply plug in the Picture Keeper Connect to your device and it will scan and backup just your new photos.
Remember, if you want this to truly be a backup you will need to have your photos in another place too. You can't just back them up to the Picture Keeper and delete them. I suggest using Forever (permanent storage) or perhaps a local external hard drive
Picture Keeper Software
For phones and tablets, you'll need to set up an account to use the app, but for your Mac or Windows computer you don't need to do anything more than just click the backup button.
A Picture Keeper can only download the photos that are on your device, so if you have iCloud turned on, proceed with caution, and be sure that you have the full resolution images, here's more information about using Picture Keeper with iCloud.
The Picture Keeper Software is regularly updated, so you may be prompted to update your software when you first plug your device in to your computer. I demonstrate how this works for Mac and PC in my video.
In Windows and Mac OS, the picture keeper has a number of more advanced features that will allow you to include or excluder certain locations on your computer.
The software keeps a track of which photos and videos have been backed up so you can easily continue a backup on an additional Picture Keeper Drive.
Picture Keeper Features
- Automatically finds all of your pictures and files for you. Simply click "Start Backup".
- Future backups only save new pictures and files.
- When one Picture Keeper fills up, the next one picks up where the last left off.
- Free software updates included.
- Skips duplicates and tells you the file location.
- Use one keeper for all of your devices.
Is a Picture Keeper Connect Right for You?
If you are looking for a simple solution to make a copy of your photos from your phone or computer as a backup - I recommend it! However, it's not as automated - you need to remember to run the backup. Picture Keeper can email you reminders, but it's still up to you to plug it in and be sure you have enought space for all your photos.
I prefer to use automated backups but if you are less tech savvy or want to avoid using cloud storage, the Picture Keeper is perfect for you.
Where to buy the Picture Keeper Connect
You can pick up a Picture Keeper here, I recommend starting with one that matches the number of Gigabytes (Gb) that your phone has, so you can easily backup all your phone photos.
The Picture Keeper Connect also comes in a variety of colours to match your phone!
So for me, I'd pick up a silver 256Gb Picture Keeper and have plenty of space for all my photos and videos from my iPhone!
What size and colour would you chose?
