Each week I share a scrapbook layout to give you a little sneak peek into what I’m scrapping, and inspire you to play with pretty pixels too.

Today I’m sharing several pages from my son Matthew’s baby album. Over the past few years, I've created a baby book for each of my children. I've written about a few ideas I had for making a baby album. I'm simplifying further and creating Matthew's with the Project Life App. I actually was able to keep up with the scrapping each month, but I haven't got around to sharing them here.

Matthew 10-12 Months

How I did it

Here's how the process worked:

1. Snap photos on my phone
2. Snap photos on my camera (Canon G16) and upload them automatically using my Eye Fi card
3. Write a few notes in my Kikki.K baby journal, Facebook or straight into the app.
4. Pull my phone photos into the Project Life App
5. Browse my camera photos on  the Crashplan App (or the Flickr App depending on the day!) and save them to my phone.
6. Make the page in the Project Life App. Here's my tutorial
7. I selected Hello Baby Boy kit to keep the pages simple - and super cute!
8. Save the page as a 12x12 as you go along.

Journaling

10 Months - You always love to join in with whatever the "big kids" are doing. Emily put you in the swing all by herself, and you seemed to enjoy it this time. You have been a little hit and miss with your sleeps as you are teething for your 7th tooth - a huge molar coming through. You are getting wriggly on the changetable so I've started to give you a teddy to play with while I change your nappy. You love helping Daddy vacuum. You are trying to feed yourself, left handed as our family tradition seems to be. You love Vegemite sandwiches right now and open them right up to eat them, getting very messy in the process.

 

11 Months - You are standing on your own for a few seconds at a time, loves "walking" while holding hands, knows how to blow out candles (on Daddy's birthday cake), claps hands when you do something clever, you giggle a lot watching clockwork toys, and is saying some words: yay, powder, good girl (copying us saying it to the girls), mum, dad, bub. This month you are 7.4 kg, size 0 clothes, saying a few words, practising standing on the edge of walking. Such a cutie pie!

 

12 Months - At 12 months you are still a little man, size 0 and less than 8 kg. You are walking! You love to play independently and make sounds for the cars "brrrm". New words include "Grandma". You will attend your first wedding at just 13 months. Uncle John and Aunty K are getting married!

 

Matthew's First Birthday - On your first birthday we opened your presents with our family. You received a fun assortment of Little People - tractor, zoo animals, and a boy and his dog.

You enjoyed having a candle on your muffin as a birthday afternoon tea. We did have to stop you grabbing at the flame.

 

1st Birthday Tea- For Matthew's first birthday we had an afternoon tea with typical party fare, featuring frogs in the pond and some nautical decorations. We also put up a few friendly jellyfish balloons around the house and yard too. The cake was a simple vanilla cake with rolled icing - my best cake yet! Party favours were seashell chocolates. Even though a few people couldn't attend you still had about 30 guests, the youngest was month old William Shanhun.
