Halloween is just 11 days away, and though I've never been trick or treating myself, I had a story to tell. So I dusted off my Halloween Scrapbooking supplies and had a bit of fun documenting a family story.
Today I'm joining in the Make it Monday blog hop. You may have came from my friend Kristie, but if not, be sure to check out her ideas for Halloween decor.
Layout: Dawn to Dusk
This is the story about a recent tradition my Dad has to give out special Halloween poetry to the trick or treaters in his suburb.

Take a look at how I created this page
I started with a template from Simple Scrapper, and decided to feature Dad's poem rather than a photo in the main photo spot. Here's how to use a template.
- For the photo I used Radlab to give an errie glow to the photo (Here's how).
- First clip the papers to the layers in the template
- Then choose a few fun embellishments
- Add a title. I added a title using a font (Rockwell)
- Add some journaling. I used my own handwriting font.
Journaling
Though we’ve never trick or treated, since 2006 Dad has written poems for the local children to share on Halloween
From Dusk to Dawn and in between
Don’t fear the host of Halloween
When ghouls attack you
May the Angels protect you
When fools persuade you
May wisdom preserve you
When goblins confuse you
May patience reward you
When slithy toves gyre and gimble in the wabe
May you with northern steel resolve to be brave
If Appolyon’s claw lowers you to the floor
May Aslan’s roar settle the score
When the clash of forces possess the night
May you be safe in your amour of light

Love this page Melissa! It was such a great idea to put the poem into the frame instead of another photo. Thanks for sharing the info about using a template! I’m looking forward to learning about that!
