Creative Memories Storybook Creator was discontinued several years ago, but I still receive a lot of enquiries about the software. Today, we hear from a creative Aussie who made a lot of invitations with CM Storybook Creator. Let's see what her options are:
Hello
I was a fellow Creative Memories Storybook 3.0 and 4.0 user. I made books but I made a lot of invites and brought a lot of papers, embellishments etc etc. My computer crashed 2 weeks ago and I lost all my programs and all the things I purchased and totally gutted. They had to replace hard drive and as the company is bankrupt I can't retrieve it at all as the company gone.
Can you point me in the right direction where I can start over again so I can make photo books, collages, prints for invites etc and what software I can buy and digital contents I can buy. If you can offer any advise or help it be much appreciated.
Kind regards Kerri [from] Tasmania Australia
Hi Kerri
Firstly, I am so sorry to hear this!
If you are looking for an exact replacement, Forever Artisan is equivalent to Storybook Creator. They have a huge array of digital supplies you can use. However, they don't have a printing service in Australia currently. You can still order from the US but be sure to join our Forever with Digi Scrap HQ to hear about the special postage deal with ShopMate each month.
If you want an Australian printing solution, the MyStory Designer is based on Story Book Creator and is free to use. They have embellishments and print-shop built into the software. You can open Forever Artisan 4 files and all StoryBook Creator files in MyStory.
All that being said, I personally use and recommend Photoshop Elements as you can shop anywhere and even use your other products if you like. You can also make any size of invitation you may want. Here's how I use Photoshop Elements for party invitations and decorations.
So, in summary, you have three options:
- Use similar software and print at home with Forever Artisan.
- Use similar software and print at an Australian print service with MyStory Designer.
- Try something new and print at home or online with any printing service with Photoshop Elements.
Do you have old Storybook Creator files to print? The easiest solution is Forever Artisan.
Happy Creating!
