Today I’m sharing a page from my little girl Emily's album.
Layout: 6 Word Story
Ali Edwards challenged us to create a layout with 6 words as part of Hello Story. I chose a photo I loved from Emily's 4th birthday and rose to the challenge!
How I did it
This page was as simple as it gets. Here's how to replicate the look:
- Create a new 12x12 layout
- Add the photo
- Type two lines of title/journaling
In the interest of full disclosure, I will share that I did a little retouching on our skin, thanks to Totally Rad Pro Retouch Tools!

Ohmygosh, that’s a GREAT picture! Your mirrored expressions are priceless. I like how that bold font shows up on top of the image at the bottom.
During a trip to Italy, my husband, SIL, and I came up with a series of short descriptions to summarize each day. The descriptions were as follows:
1 word
2 words
3 or 4 words
1 sentence
The habit grew on all of us, and we’d come up with our words and phrases throughout the day, announcing and sharing (yeah, and bragging!), “I’ve got my two words!” Now, that record is a great memory jog.
How cool is that! I can see this as a fun game on holidays. Take along a notebook, add it to your phone or a journalling card and voila! Memories captured!
