My good friend and Paintshop Pro extraordinaire, Cassel is running a free 12 Days of Christmas event. So today I'm sharing my tutorial on making a card with Photoshop Elements.
Do you want to prepare some holiday cards to send or to hand out? Join the 12 Days of Christmas event in the Campus. It is ABSOLUTELY FREE. You will get 12 templates to create your own, using your own supplies with tutorials and inspiration from various designers (paper and digi, so there is something for you too). Register now

Create the Card in Photoshop Elements
You can see a full video of how I create cards in Photoshop Elements here, along with a free step-by-step handout.
Open the PSD template in Photoshop Elements. Each file will look something like this.
Open up the kit you want to use on your cards
Drag on the papers from the photo bin up onto your card
Clip papers to the template shapes using Ctrl+G (Cmd+G on a Mac)
Clip some photos to the white areas. I filled each photo spot with a recent picture of my children, Emily, Edward and Lucy.
Drag on the embellishments. On the card I used a word art strip, tag and bow.
For the envelope I popped a leaf and two flowers on the bottom left where the white boxes were and added some more hand lettered word art.
Print the card and envelope onto cardstock
Finish the Card on Paper
Trim it with the Fiskars ProCision Rotary Trimmer (LOVE this trimmer - but you can even just use a craft knife and metal ruler)
Cut out the envelope by hand (though I could have used my Cameo!)
Fold the card and envelope
Glue the envelope with my ATG tape runner
Now it's all done and ready to give away!

I love the idea of combining the digital card with some 3D elements too. Perfect for those who still like the idea of paper scrapping! Now, who will be the lucky recipient of this great card?

That is the hardest part!! 🙂 At least it’s easy to reproduce 🙂
